I’ve already had surgery on my shoulder or elbow with another surgeon. Can I still see Dr. Nolan?

Yes, a large percentage of our referrals come from other orthopaedic surgeon due to Dr. Nolan’s extensive specialized training. We do see patients who have had previous surgeries and may need something additional done or may just want advice on what options might be available. We do a considerable number of “revision” surgeries, which is what it is called if you are having surgery on a body part which has already had a prior surgery. If you have a copy of the operative report from your prior surgeries or can obtain it, that would be helpful to bring with you to the appointment.

Do I have to have my copay upfront?

Yes, you are expected to have your copay upfront, and you will be asked to pay it before you see Dr. Nolan for your appointment.

Do I need a referral to see Dr. Nolan?

Most patients do NOT need a referral to see Dr. Nolan. If you have a PPO insurance policy, you do not need a referral. However, if you are an active duty soldier covered by Tricare or Veteran using your VA benefits, or have an HMO insurance policy, you will need a referral.
